Results of Tropical Storm Isaias

After the storm on Tuesday, a number of homeowners are missing either a trash bin or recycle bin. Every homeowner is entitled to one trash bin and one recycle bin provided by Republic Services; unless a homeowner has requested and paid for extra bins through the Cape Windsor Board

If you acquired an extra container as a result of the storm or by any other means and not paid for it, please return the bin/s on Sunday 8/9. Place them close to the building outside of the pool area and a Board member will redistribute.

Each homeowner is asked to secure and to place their address on the two containers you have been allocated.

Pets – Ongoing Problem

The Board receives complaints weekly regarding pets. Remember, it is the law to leash your pet when outside of your property.

Listed are the complaints received:

  1. Pet waste not being picked up.
  2. Pets being walked on neighbors’ lawns and allowed to go to the bathroom, killing grass and leaving waste. Corner lots on Old Rt. 54 are private property, therefore no pets.
  3. Pets not leashed when walking outside of the owner’s property.
  4. Cats roaming freely, they also need to be leashed or kept inside the owner’s home. Reports of two attacks to small dogs have been received from a cat not managed by the owner.
  5. Constant barking of dog’s day and night

Tropical Storm Isaias

Prepare for the impact of Tropical Storm Isaias starting Monday evening.

Our area is in the path of Tropical Storm Isaias, please prepare your property for the impact of high winds and possible flooding. Secure outdoor furniture, trash and recycle receptacles, grills and waters vessels and prepare for power outages. The impact to our area will start late today and continue through Wednesday.

Check your neighbor’s property if they are not down or able to do this themselves. You can assist in securing loose items, this will help protect both your property and your neighbors.

Town of Ocean City Monitoring Path of Tropical Storm Isaias

OCEAN CITY, MD – (August 3, 2020): Ocean City Emergency Services is continuing to monitor the projected path of Tropical Storm Isaias. Currently, effects of the storm are expected to be in the Ocean City area beginning late Monday, August 3 through Tuesday, August 4.
Winds in excess of 40 mph are expected, with gusts reaching as high as 50 to 60 mph. Based on the current track, Ocean City could see several inches of rain and flooding during high tide cycles. Town of Ocean City personnel have begun completing pre-storm action items, including closing the seawall and removing items from the beach. Residents are encouraged to begin securing outdoor furniture, grills and waters vessels and prepare for power outages.

The Town of Ocean City will be posting storm related information on various websites, social media outlets and through the Emergency Alert system. In an effort to keep citizens informed with the most updated and accurate information, the Town of Ocean City will be posting storm related information on the following outlets:

The Town of Ocean City’s Emergency Services personnel will be working closely with local and state representatives to provide citizens with timely, accurate and essential information before, during and after the storm. Citizens are encouraged to Know Your Zone and Division and be prepared for any impact the storm may have on Ocean City. Cape Windsor Annual Meeting – July 25th

Cape Windsor’s 2020 Annual Meeting is this coming Saturday, July 25, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Roxana Volunteer Fire Department, Dining Hall. With Governor Carney’s Phase II plan meeting facilities may reopen provided they limit total number of guests in the facility to 60% of fire occupancy requirements and take steps to enforce social distancing of guests. The Fire House protocol is: Masks, hand sanitizing and social distancing is required in the Firehouse.

The chairs and tables must be disinfected prior to and after the meeting, so the number of chairs available will be held to the number of members who have reserved a place.

Also, we will have a person checking names at the door. Refreshments will not be provided to minimize the possible cross contamination of multiple people touching items. So, remember to bring your water or coffee.

Pool Closure for 2020 Season

Dear Members:

The Delaware Health and Social Services, Division of Public Health issued their latest mandates on operating a public/community pool on May 28, effective June 1. The mandates to open a pool and follow these mandates are extreme as follows:

✓ Limit access to 30% of capacity
✓ Disinfect all high touch surfaces every 15 minutes to 2 hours, includes entrance gate, handles, chairs, tables, bathrooms, etc.
✓ Test pH and chlorine levels of the pool water every 1 hour
✓ Maintain records of all these activities for the Division of Public Health to inspect and confirm compliance

These mandates are too restrictive for our community to comply as well as monitor on a continuous basis. Hence, the Board of Directors vote was unanimous in support of keeping the pool closed for the entire 2020 summer season. We regret having to do this but we see no reasonable options.
